The state government said 27 houses were completely destroyed, while another 196 sustained partial damage. As a precautionary measure, 5,792 people have been evacuated and accommodated in 209 relief camps set up across Kerala.

Expressing condolences to the families of the victims, Satheesan assured that the government would provide all necessary assistance to those who lost their loved ones, homes and means of livelihood.

Although rainfall has eased since Saturday, the Chief Minister urged residents, particularly those living in hilly and landslide-prone regions, to remain alert and follow official advisories.

He also said elected representatives, government officials and volunteers have been actively involved in rescue and relief operations. Satheesan added that he is in constant contact with Revenue Minister AP Anilkumar, other ministers assigned to various districts and local authorities to closely monitor the evolving situation and coordinate relief efforts.
