The woman had joined them on the journey as she was travelling to visit her young children, who are boarders at Auxilium Convent, Aldona.

According to reports, a speeding vehicle allegedly rammed their car from behind and fled the scene. The impact caused their vehicle to hit a road divider before overturning several times.

The woman sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to them.

Fr Anselmo and Fr Francis suffered minor injuries and were shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for treatment. Fr Russel escaped unhurt.
