Mulgaon Mining Row: Villagers Allege Transported Minerals Without Addressing Demands

Mulgaon villagers and Panchayat members have alleged that a mining company used the pre-monsoon period at its Mulgaon mine to transport minerals from the site instead of addressing pending concerns raised by the local community.

The alleged irregularity came to light on Thursday when villagers and Panchayat members, accompanied by the local MLA and the Mamlatdar, conducted an inspection of the mining site.

According to the villagers, despite repeated written representations over the past two years, the mining company has failed to address their demands. They further alleged that minerals were extracted and transported from the site without adequately addressing the concerns raised by the community.

Vasantgad, president of the Mulgaon Citizens’ Action Committee, warned that the company would be held responsible for any untoward incident arising from growing resentment among villagers.

The inspection and allegations have added to concerns among residents over mining activity in the area and the company’s compliance with local demands and procedures.
