Cortalim Congress leader Mahesh Nadar has taken up pothole repairs in Zuarinagar at his own expense, citing frustration over the lack of action by elected representatives despite repeated assurances to improve the area’s poor road conditions.
Nadar arranged ready-mix concrete (RMC) mixers and began filling potholes with cement concrete to provide immediate relief to commuters using the damaged roads.
Nadar said roads are among the most basic infrastructure needs of citizens and questioned the failure of the local MLA, ZP members and elected panchayat representatives to address the problem.
He pointed out that the representatives are part of the BJP government and said repeated assurances had failed to translate into visible improvements on the ground.
By undertaking the repairs himself, Nadar said he wanted to address the immediate difficulties faced by motorists and residents travelling through Zuarinagar while highlighting the need for authorities to take responsibility for basic civic infrastructure.
