Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has strongly condemned the firing incident targeting a businessman in Porvorim and assured that those responsible will be brought to justice. Sawant said he ordered a detailed inquiry immediately after learning about the attack, stressing that such incidents are unacceptable in Goa.
He said police are investigating the motive behind the firing and working to identify both the attackers and those who allegedly ordered the assault. Sawant added that the government would not tolerate such incidents and that necessary measures were being taken to prevent similar attacks in the future.

Calling the incident deeply regrettable, he said it was the first such incident during his eight-year tenure. The Home Department has directed the DGP and senior police officials to ensure the accused are arrested at the earliest.
