MARGAO: A disaster mock exercise was conducted at Margao Railway Station on Tuesday to assess the preparedness and coordination of various agencies in responding to an emergency situation.
The exercise brought together railway officials, police personnel, fire and emergency services, medical teams and other agencies, who participated in the simulated emergency response.
The drill was aimed at testing the effectiveness of the emergency response system, improving coordination between different agencies and identifying areas that may require further strengthening during an actual disaster.
Officials said such exercises are important to ensure that emergency personnel remain prepared to respond quickly and efficiently while minimising risks to passengers and the public.
The mock exercise also provided an opportunity for participating agencies to assess their communication, rescue and medical response mechanisms during a crisis.
