Cruz Silva Slams Police Over ‘Weak’ FIR in Sarpanch Attack Case

CHINCHINIM: AAP MLA Cruz Silva has criticised the Goa Police and Home Department over the registration of what he described as a “weak” FIR in connection with the alleged attack on Chinchinim-Deussua Sarpanch Gerson Gomes.

Silva accused the authorities of making a “mockery” of law and order by registering the case under Section 121(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The AAP MLA demanded that additional provisions, including Sections 121(2), 132 and 61 of the BNS, be invoked in the case.

Silva also called for stringent action against the alleged accused, Malcolm Pereira, and urged the authorities to ensure that the case is investigated under appropriate legal provisions.

Questioning the handling of the case, Silva said stronger action was necessary to uphold law and order and ensure justice for the alleged victim.
