Porvorim: An expert team from IIM-Nagpur is scheduled to inspect the newly opened Porvorim elevated corridor on Saturday as the Goa government reviews traffic arrangements and road safety measures following a fatal crash that claimed two lives shortly after the flyover was opened.
PWD Minister Digambar Kamat said future decisions on changes to traffic movement and safety arrangements will be taken based on the recommendations of the technical team.

The inspection will be conducted in the presence of PWD Principal Chief Engineer Sandip Chodnekar and other senior officials. The experts are expected to assess traffic flow, access points and other safety-related aspects and suggest measures to reduce the risk of accidents.
At present, two-wheelers are prohibited from using the elevated corridor, while the entry and exit points near Hotel Neo Majestic have also been closed. Kamat said these restrictions could be reconsidered only after the government receives technical recommendations.
The government is also examining a range of possible measures, including the installation of speed cameras, modifications to entry and merging points, and separating traffic on the service roads from the main carriageway.
However, no permanent changes to the traffic arrangements have been finalised so far. The government is expected to take a decision after studying the recommendations of the IIM-Nagpur expert team.
