Govt plans to start Heli tourism in State

PANJIM: The Department of Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (GTDC) plans to introduce Heli tourism as a new arm for promotion of tourism activities in the State. 

To facilitate the same, Helipad has been constructed under Development of Coastal Circuit I in Goa under Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India at Old Goa.

The helipad at Old Goa will be inaugurated on Sept 20 at 10.30 am by G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India and Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister in the presence of  Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Tourism & Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Manohar Ajgaonkar, Dy Chief Minister & Tourism Minister, Dayanand Sopte, MLA and Chairman GTDC, Pandurang Madkaikar, Cumbarjua MLA, senior officials among others.
