PONDA: The Ponda police arrested Munna Gulabehand Sah (29) from Bihar, the driver of a crane which crushed to death a woman and child, at Paiyekade, Konnem-Farmagudi, on Thursday evening.
The accused driver was working with Chodhari Cranes Pvt Ltd at Farmagudi and he has been booked for rash and negligent driving endangering life of person under Section 279, 304A of IPC and Section (134) a, b of Motor Vehicles Act.
Meanwhile, the Woman Sangeeta Gaude from Konnem Priol who was crushed under crane was cremated in a local crematorium after her body was handed to her relatives by Police at 1 pm on Friday.
However, the body of her three-year-old nephew Devansh Rajesh Zalmi is still preserved in GMC and his final rites has been delayed as his father Rajesh Zalmi who was fainted after watching the accident in which his son lost, is still undergoing treatment in Sub District hospital.
It is learnt that Sangeeta Gaude is survived by her husband and two school going daughters.
Meanwhile, most of the shops and gaddas located on National Highway at Connem Prio were closed down today due to mourn the death of two accident victims.
