MARGAO: He woke up on Thursday to find Income Tax sleuths right at his door steps, but flamboyant Goa Vikas Party supremo Mickky Pacheco says the raid makes no difference to him, with his residence having been raided seven times during the last seven years.
“I have nothing to say on the IT search. But, this house has been raided seven times in the last seven years. What difference does it make to me? There is nothing illegal. I don’t do anything illegal,” Mickky told waiting media persons outside his building when he had come down to his office attired in a T-shirt and three-fourth pant.
When media persons asked whether he suspects the hand of anyone behind the search operation, the Nuvem MLA said “I don’t suspect anything. Let them do their duty. I have got nothing to do with them”.
When pointed out that the raid has come in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls, Mickky said the raid made no difference to him. “I was surprised at the raid since I was still sleeping. It was around 7.30 am and I found the raid at odd hours. I want to say there’s nothing illegal. Everything is in black and white,” he said.
When further pointed out that the Lok Sabha polls are round the corner, he said “Mickky will do what he has got to do. I have been doing it and the raid or search will make no difference to me.”
