PANJIM: In a special drive conducted by the Panjim Police, 63 cases of Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) violation and other illegal activities were booked. The police have detained several two and four wheeler vehicles which were found in violation.
The detained vehicles include two four-wheelers and nine two-wheeler vehicles. The vehicles were detained under the Section 192 of MVA. The police have collected Rs 55,000 in fines.

Twenty-two cases of riding without helmet, two cases of tinted glasses on vehicles, 12 riding without side mirror, three riding/driving without number plate, four vehicles booked for driving/riding into no entry, one rider was booked for having no licence and minor in age, 21 Cases under general provision and one case was booked under Section 184 of MVA.
In addition to these cases four cases of touting by persons were booked in Panjim.
Meanwhile, in a similar special drive by Old Goa Police, 50 cases related to the MV Act were booked including, riding without helmet, underage riders, renting private vehicles to tourists.
Nine hawkers were arrested for obstructing vehicles and public.
The Old Goa police had also undertaken intensive tenant verification drive under which three suspected persons were booked under Section 41 CrPC.
The Agasaim Police Station undertook a drive under which 18 violations of driving without licence, minors driving vehicles, private bike given on rent and cases of riding without helmet were booked.
