MAPUSA: Dabholkarwado, Caisua residents raised concern over an illegal construction and land filling by a Delhi hotelier, on Monday.
The locals gathered at the site alleged that the person is illegally extracting mud from the hill and the land filling is going to cause damage to 30 families residing in the valley.
Sagar Govekar, a resident, said, “In June 2019, a complaint was filed with the local panchayat, town planner and additional collector but till date no action is taken. We even approached the flying squad whose officials said that the mud would be cleared within a month but it still continues and more mud is being dumped every day. During the last monsoon the rain washed down all the mud into our houses.”
Residents also alleged that the said hotelier is not carrying out construction as per the plan while violating the laws by carrying out illegal land filling and hill cutting.
Residents said that there are 30 houses in this valley with over hundred persons which also include old age people as small children.
