PONDA: NGO People of Ponda (PoP) is going to help thousands of youth who will arrive in Ponda from across India to give Army Recruitment Test from January 30 to February 6.

Held every two years, the future jawans, who came earlier to Ponda for the recruitment test, were complaining of lack of basic facilities and were even forced to sleep on footpaths and answer the call of nature in the open. However, this time PoP, along with a social worker Anil Korde has made arrangements for the youth at the Ponda Sports Complex. Around 7,000 youngsters are expected to come from across India for the recruitment drive to be held at the Military Training Centre, Ponda. The public on seeing the plight of these future jawans in the earlier years had demanded basic facilities for these youngsters so that they could apply their mind during the test.
“We speak highly of our jawans and their dedicated service to the nation. However, when these youngsters arrive for recruitment, they were missing the basic facilities. So this time we thought of making it easier for them to undergo the test by providing basic facilities at the sports complex,” Pramod Sawant, PoP member.
