The South Goa Sessions Court on Friday acquitted three persons who were charged with the murder one Shridhar Deekonda at Colva in October last year.
While acquitting the three accused, Bandan Rout, Amresh Rout and R K Rout, all natives of Jaipur, but residing at Colva, Additional Sessions Judge, Desmond D’Costa said the prosecution has totally failed to bring out the guilt of the accused and their involvement in the case.
“The prosecution has neither proved that it is the accused persons, who assaulted the deceased on his head, causing him injuries. So also, the prosecution has failed to prove that the accused person had given abuses to the late Deekonda”, Judge D’Costa added.
The incident had occurred on the night of October 15, 2009 in the open place in front of the house of Cynthia Deekonda at 3rd Ward, Colva. The prosecution had charged the accused that they abused the complainant and her husband in filthy words with common intention to provoke a breach of peace.
