PANJIM: Gearing up to face the new academic year Goa Board has started workshops and training programmes for teachers of classes IX and X on the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) earlier this week. Around 2000 teachers at four centers are expected to be covered across the State.
“In fact the response has been so encouraging and we expect the number to touch 2600,” Goa Board Chairman J R Rebello said on Tuesday. While workshops on CCE are being along with SCERT, workshops to train subject wise master trainers under CCE scheme are also underway.
“After the five day workshop for master trainers, they will thereafter begin intensive training for teachers in CCE taluka-wise,” Rebello explained. “Here again a total of 35 master trainers are being trained to take forward the process for implementation of CCE at class IX from June 2014,” said the Goa Board Chairman.
While workshops for teachers are being conducted at Margao, Mapusa, Ponda and Panjim , the five day workshops for master trainers is being conducted at the Board office at Porvorim with the assistance of Center for Assessment, Evaluation and Research.
The Goa Board has submitted its report on CCE to the government for its final approval. The GBSHSE will be implementing the CCE for class IX from June 2014 and for class X from 2015.
The Board is expected to meet shortly to assess the progress on the implementation of the CCE and development of software for storage of data and records for the schools and by the Board using information technology.
Rebello said that the Center for Assessment, Evaluation and Research will be monitoring the entire process for effective implementation of CCE and its resource personnel would be assisting the Goa Board to ensure smooth transition to the new scheme from the next academic year.
