PANJIM: Sunshine Boys, Pernem Pistons, Paroda XI and Paroda Boys won their respective matches of the U-13 Boy’s category at the 3rd GFDC Vodafone Rising Stars Football festival Intra-centre league matches, recently.
In the U-13 Girl’s category, Peity Footballers managed to hold Piety Rangers in a goalless draw at Collem ground.
At Benaulim ground, Sunshine Boys put up an excellent performance as they trounced Moonlight Boys 3-0. Christiano Fernandes, Richi Fernandes and Josval Furtado scored one goal each.
Christiano scored the first goal in the 18th minute of the first half. Moonlight did play well in the first half and defended many attacks of the Sunshine team.
In the second half, Sunshine team outperformed their opponents and added two more goals to their tally. Richi Fernandes and Josval Furtado scored in the 13th and 25th minutes of the second half respectively.
The player of the match was Clydson Rodrigues of Sunshine for his good defending.
The second match between Iron Boys and Dream Light ended in a 1-1 draw. Veron Rodrigues of Iron Boys scored in the 15th minute of the second half and Shawn Carvalho of the Dream Light equalized in the 20th minute of the second half.
Veron was adjudged player of the match.
At Pernem ground, Pernem Pistons defeated Pernem Panthers with the help of a strike from Harsh Kashalkar who was also adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
In another match, Paroda XI thumped FC Paroda 3-0. Cyren Valves scored twice and got good support from Nassir Sayyad who also scored a goal for his side.
In the second match at Paroda ground, Paroda Boys defeated Paroda United 5-1. Arnold Oliveira scored a fine hat-trick for his side and was also the chosen as player of the match.
The lone match played in the U-13 Girl’s category between Piety Footballers and Piety Rangers at Collem ended in a goalless draw.
