PANJIM: Merces Veterans got the better of Viva North Goa (B) 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move ahead in the all-Goa Veterans football tournament, organized by Panjim Veterans, at St Cruz ground. The teams were locked 1-1at full time.
Camilo D’Silva, former Tata Football player opened the account for Viva North Goa in the first half. In the second half, Bharat Vengulekar equalized for Merces Veterans.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Benhun Pereira, Prasanna, Ashok Gawas and Francis scored for Merces Veterans while Celestino Fernandes, Anand Bandokar and Jayesh converted for Viva North Goa. Constancio Godinho gave away the man-of-the-match to Camilo.
