While commending the role of the Siolim-Sodiem panchayat in handling the issue of stray cattle, another herd of bovines have now invaded the village and are creating a nuisance.
The strays have been entering peoples homes and feasting on anything that is left outdoors. The animals have been a nuisance to farmers and destroying the vegetable plantations. At nights, they have been squatting in the middle of the road and pose danger to pedestrians and motorists. Besides these bovines, there are huge bulls which terrorise residents by charging at anyone who tries to keep them away. They often lock horns with each other and end up damaging vehicles parked by the roadside. It would be prudent if the panchayat body summons the services of the gaushala and impound the strays at the earliest.
