She has submitted a letter to the Deputy Director of Panchayats and Ponda Block Development Officer seeking to withdraw the same.
However, BJP-backed opposition member Sandeep Khandeparkar said the sarpanch was lying and misleading the people about the BJP. He said, “When she is in a ruling group of six, how can a rival BJP group of five pressurize her to sign a no-confidence motion against her deputy? She should declare what kind of pressure the opposition panchas put on her.”
He alleged that the MGP-backed sarpanch had taken the lead and contacted the BJP panchas, before heading to the BDO to sign the no-confidence motion. She allegedly informed them that the deputy was interfering with her duties and it was necessary to remove him. Khandeparkar said the question of pressurizing did not arise. The BJP panchas also alleged that she was pressurised by her own MGP-backed group to withdraw the motion.
Although she requested that the no-confidence motion be withdrawn, BDO sources said the same will come up for discussion.
