PANJIM: Volon Albert Developers emerged champions of the Manjrekar Trophy T-20 cricket tournament, organised by Bogda Youth Club, defeating Rajhauns Rising by 86 runs in the final played at SAG ground, Campal, recently.
Electing to bat first, Volon Albert Developers scored 151 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Naresh Parsekar (35) was the top scorer for Volon. Durgesh Naik (22) and Vishal Sawant (17) were other important contributors for the winners. For Rajhauns Rising, Umesh Naik (3/27) and Prashant Pangam (3/18) impressed with the ball.
In reply, a brilliant bowling display from Volon Albert Developers bowled out Rajhauns Rising for just 65 runs in 17 overs.
Chandan Naik (20) was the top run getter for Rajhauns. Basuraj Madar (3/19) was the pick of Volon bowlers. Gopal Gawas, Naresh Parsekar and Sarfaraz Nawaz took two wickets each.
