PONDA: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Monday directed the officials to ensure the smooth flow of traffic at Marcela during 21-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.
He said the Banastarim Matoli Bazaar has been shifted to new place near the Maruti Temple and appealed to the vendors and traffic cops to follow guidelines as discussed at the meeting, which was attended by local sarpanchas, fire station, traffic, electricity and PWD officials.
Stating that the roads in Marcela are better maintained, Gaude however said the maintenance of affected stretches would be done before the festival. He directed the officials to provide bio toilets to devotees visiting the Ganesh Dekhava at Marcela.
Instructing them to provide uninterrupted water and electricity to locals, he informed that Marcel fish and vegetable market has been shifted and called upon the vendors to cooperate.
When people complained about roadside bushes and non-functional streetlights, the minister assured to look into the matter.
