VASCO: Taking cognizance of the demands raised by the industrial units from Verna, the chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar have assured that the issue of different police station jurisdiction manning law and order at Verna would be resolved within a week time.
Besides Verna police station, Maina-Curtorim police station shares the responsibility of maintaining law and order in Verna industrial estate and there were complaints that many industrial units face hardships, as one part of a unit falls under Verna station, while other portion of same unit falls in Maina-Curtorim police station, creating confusion.
“The concerns raised by the industrial units are genuine and therefore, I have decided to move a note and bring Verna industrial units under one police station jurisdiction by removing jurisdiction of other police station presently maintaining law and order. This issue would be resolved within a week,” Parsekar assured.
