Camurlim fails to suggest projects under infrastructure scheme

MARGAO: The Camurlim gram sabha on Sunday failed to suggest any projects to be taken up under the Deendayal Panchayati Raj Infrastructure Scheme.

MARGAO: The Camurlim gram sabha on Sunday failed to suggest any projects to be taken up under the Deendayal Panchayati Raj Infrastructure Scheme.
Members, who attended the gram sabha meeting chaired by Sarpanch Siddhi Saulo Naik, could not suggest any developmental project under the scheme since the panchayat has no land of its own to take up the projects.
Incidentally the gram sabha ended abruptly even as no question under AOB being considered with gram sabha member Francisco Romao raising a protest.
Gram sabha members also expressed their grievance over the dilapidated condition of roads in village and demanded that the panchayat body initiate remedial measures. The gram sabha members were informed that improvement and hot mixing of the roads tender was awaiting financial approval.
Gram sabha members agreed to allot a space in panchayat house to Goa State Cooperative Bank to facilitate in giving services for multiple finance facilities to the villagers. Gram sabha members also raised issue over availing the subsidy for gas purchase and demanded that the supplier be asked to take necessary measures. 
The deputy sarpanch Conceicao Dias informed gram sabha members that MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has promised to solve the street light problem before Christmas.
