VASCO: Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar has assured to the people of Vasco that the long-pending underground power cable will be laid here within a year.
Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a bank function held in Vasco recently, Madkaikar said after he took over as power minister, he has set a target to complete the work of underground cabling in remaining major cities in Goa and by December 2017 underground cabling works in Vasco will be complete.
“I understand that there was some delay in completing the work of laying down underground power cables which would reduce power fluctuations and power cuts. I have already issued directions to take up underground cabling work on priority and I feel the same would be completed by year end,” he said.
