PANJIM: Ameya Audi of Salcete taluka clinched the All-Goa Rotary Open Rapid Chess tournament title, recently.
In the final round, Ameya beat top seed Niraj Saripalli with black pieces to score eight points from nine rounds to take the title away and Aston beat Aryan Raiker to finish on the second spot. He also scored eight points but had to settle for the second place on tie-break.
Gaurav Madkaikar drew with Brendon and bagged the third position. Other winners were Niraj Saripalli, Nandhini Saripalli, Brendon Peroz, Parsekar Anirudh, Tanvi Hadkonkar, Audi Saiesh, Aryan Raikar, Bhimappa Harijan, Devesh Naik, Sudhakar Patgar, Sahil Shetty, WCM Swera Braganza, Fadte Rudresh, Ishan Sanjay Pagi, Ayush Shetkar, WCM Chopdekar Gunjal, Morajkar Navin. They finished fourth to 20th places respectively.
The prizes were given by President of Rotary Club of Margao, Prashant Kamat in the presence of the other dignitaries.

U-13 Boys: 1st G Madhavan, 2nd Sanjay Thorat. U-13 Girls: 1st Vibhuti Desai, 2nd Lashkarwale Ashfiya. U-15 Boys: 1st Bhobe Harsh, 2nd Yash Paul. U-15 Girls: 1st Sakshi Naik Gaonkar, 2nd Varkekar Esha.
