VASCO: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Tuesday slammed former revenue minister Jose Philip D’Souza for his failure to bring public utility projects during his two terms in port town.
Almeida said that he will speak on the developmental works and public utility projects he has brought only after his tenure gets completed.
Reacting to the comments and allegations made by the former minister and Nationalist Congress Party President Jose Philip on Vasco remaining underdeveloped for several years, MLA Almeida slammed former counterpart for his inability to bring most awaited project such as fish market, fishing jetty and even went ahead to say that being from the fisherman community D’Souza couldn’t save the houses of the fishermen.
Almeida further said that at least I have some achievements and some of the projects are in the pipeline and questioned that being a minister for two terms, what Jose Philip has done for Vasco?
Commenting further, the MLA said that during my term I tried to bring good water supply, good roads etc. Some of the public utility projects have been taken up. There is still time for my tenure to get complete and once it is complete at that time I will speak.
“Jose Philip has miserably failed saving his own people. Despite of being minister for two terms why he was unable to bring developmental projects in Vasco,” Almeida questioned.
It may be recalled that, on Monday, NCP Goa President Jose Philip D’Souza had slammed Vasco MLA and the MMC Councillors for their lack of willingness and co-ordination among them to put public utility projects in the place.
