MARGAO: The fate of the “interactions” promised by former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to address concerns raised on the Mopa airport in South Goa remains unknown with the change of guard in the state.
With Parrikar moving to Delhi to preside over the Defence portfolio questions are raised on the two interactions announced by the former Chief Minister in Vasco and Margao in November. The former Chief Minister had promised to hold the two interactions after his Cabinet colleagues Alina Saldanha and Avertano Furtado raised their apprehension on the new airport at the Cabinet meeting before the government floated the tender for the Request for Qualification (RFQ).
When Herald contacted the former Fisheries Minister Avertan Furtado to shed light on Parrikar’s interactions, he admitted that the former CM had indeed assured to hold the two interactions in South Goa.
