According to the vendors, last year the sopo was Rs 5 per sq mt, but PMC passed a resolution to hike the sopo tax from Rs 5 to 20. It may be recalled that the chief minister had intervened in the matter and recommended a rollback in the sopo tax.
PMC decreased the sopo tax, but the vendors were not satisfied and wanting a total roll backl have approached the court.
