Anand’s day starts at 5.50 when he takes his dogs out for a walk on a leisurely amble through the deserted streets of Margoa. Half an hour later the dogs are home and he leaves for the MCC grounds to train under the guidance of a trainer along with a group of friends. A good work out is followed by a game of cricket. This is his schedule everyday. And as he smiles and say’s “This game of cricket may not happen everyday but when it does it is great fun to start your day playing the game you love.”
It is then to the shop. Time at the shop does not leave him with time to read books. He reads the newspapers to keep posted on the developments in the world. For entertainment he likes Arijit Singh. He is a big fan of Bollywood music. However when it comes to movies, it is only Hollywood for him. He thinks Bollywood makes a lot of crap. He likes action movies like the Transformers and the like. Anand however is critical of some of the latest presentations by Hollywood who he thinks are rather inspired by Bollywood movies which are usually devoid of a plot.
He is however not so critical when it comes to food. He likes them all be it continental, Goan, Chinese and even Thai for which he has a weakness. When he feels like eating out, he prefers to go to a mess near the Idea showroom in Margoa called the Spicy Chilli. Outside Goa he likes going to Belgaum for rice and mutton, mutton thali, chicken and kheema. Anand is also quite singular in his love for history. He intends to go all over visiting the forts of Shivaji. He would like to take 2 or 3 friends and drive off for 15-20 days visiting these historical sites and learning more about them.
He is aware it may take a while for him to do this because he along with his friends may not have that many days to get away from the pressures of work. But he remains confident and patient. This visit will also help him combine his love for driving and moving out of the city. He has stayed in jungles overnight in a tent and he loves the sounds and smells of such an environment. He has a Tata Safari and a Mercedes ML which powers his love for the long road. He has travelled all over Europe and would like to visit America, Australia and New Zealand. His life has been focussed on his business but he would now like to spend more time relaxing, taking holidays and visiting places. This he feels will be is focus in the next five years. As he says “I spent the last twenty years focussed on the business and perhaps it’s now time to relax and have some fun.”
