Business Diva competition for women entrepreneurs launched

PANJIM: Goa Chamber of Commerce Women’s Wing in association with Forum for innovation, incubation, Research & Entrepreneurship (FiiRE) and powered by Geno Foundation has launched ‘The Business Diva’ competition on Monday.
This competition is being organised to encourage women with innovative businesses or start-up ideas to come forward. The competition will help these entrepreneurs get structured incubation at FiiRE, mentoring by industry veterans and captains, networking opportunities, access to funding besides the cash prizes to the winners.
During the launching of this competition, Pallavi Salgaocar, chairperson of GCCI Women Wing explained how the Wing was established with a purpose of empowering women entrepreneurs, self help groups and professionals. She also spoke about Geno Foundation which is a Trust set up by Geno Pharmaceuticals Pvt ltd which promotes activities related to sports, education, women empowerment, environment sustainability and gender equality.
Inseyah Ali incubation manager of FiiRE spoke about how the technology business incubator established with the help of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India hosts mentoring and incubation programs for startups at Don Bosco College at Fatorda.
Co Chairperson, Poonam Sirsat and project director of this program explained the entire procedure of the competition and timelines and  said  that this competition is being organised with a purpose to encourage more women  –  young, matured, experienced or freshers to come forward to  venture into the Entrepreneurship World. 
Sirsat added that the main objective for this competition was to identify and support women with innovative businesses or startup ideas; encourage and facilitate entrepreneurship among women and raise the standard of living of society through women empowerment.
