The MoU was signed by P M Johri the chief general manager, HR&A of GSL in presence of his CMD RAdm (Retd) Shekhar Mital. Chairman of CII, Goa Council Parag Joshi signed on behalf of the CII.
Mr Joshi told Herald that in this three-year initial MoU, GSL will provide Rs 15 lakh per annum which shall help set up a cell within the CII Goa Office, which shall work towards the creation of the skill sets in people through the ITI’s, polytechnics and engineering colleges. Mr Joshi told the Herald that, “CII will facilitate and create a team of professionals in the field of skill development and work alongside the GSL in preparing a comprehensive curriculum, introducing it in relevant engineering institutions, organizing for training the trainers, validating course materials and understanding its applicability and suitability on an ongoing basis. This will be challenge.”
As regards augmenting business opportunities to promote business investments into the state CII will also guide the potential entrepreneurs in acquiring land, managing the resources, planning for the project financing and handhold these ventures during the set up process in consultation with the GSL.
