She believes that life is too short to spend in negative stuff. However, when faced with difficulties Jennifer Lewis takes them head-on as it teaches a lot. “Nothing and nobody can take away that experience away from you. I have always believed in grabbing opportunities to learn and gain experience. While others are mulling over the negatives, I have already gone and done it. Then the nay-sayers follow,” believes Jennifer.
She loves to organise community events, obviously with great interest and enthusiasm as she gets a kick out of it whenever she gets an opportunity to do this.
“I do not charge money for that as I love doing this work and it is part of my social work which I enjoy contributing to,” said Jennifer.
A die-hard positive she pro-actively looks for the next goal post and she never hesitates to set her goals.
“Sometimes, the field changes and so the goal posts, but that is what life teaches you. Choose what you want to do in life, and go ahead and do it. Know yourself; make yourself who you want to be. If opportunities come to you, identify it at the right time on the first instance and grab them. You must also know when to let go. Life is short and the world is so big,” says Jennifer.
She is never scared of experimenting new food and she eats local food wherever she travels as every place has something unique and lovely to offer and because life is good when one can appreciate different cultures.
Jennifer recalls her Mexico visit as one of the best as she stayed there for 20 days with many of her Mexican friends across the country. “I was very excited to visit Merida with my friend’s Spanish speaking archaeologist father who had restored some of the columns at the pyramids. Every time, I watch Jennifer Lopez’s video, “I am into you”, I am taken back to the memory,” added Jennifer.
She reminiscences her school days where she was a virtual all-rounder and participated in sports, drama, singing, dancing events as she knew that it was the best time for her to enjoy. Some teachers saw talent in her and pushed her on to the stage to sing in front of a choir for a Christmas carol competition.
“My parents could not recognise me. And that was in primary school. In the Goa Engineering College, I even represented the college at basketball and badminton. I once participated in four dance events back-to-back at a college gathering,” adds Jennifer.
For her she cannot pinpoint any particular instance which inspired her but she believes that everyday one learns so many things and meets so many people. Every experience pushes her to do more, observe and analyse. “I pick what applies and appeals to me. At first I began by wanting to impress my parents. Now there is no one I wish to impress, just to get a job done well. I am just a determined person, with too many things to do. Life is short,” feels Jennifer.
