HERALD: What business are you in?
DESHAJ MAPXENCAR: Brasham Delivery is Hyperlocal delivery which delivers restaurant food from your favourite restaurant around you within 30 minutes of placing order. We are also into door-step home delivery of groceries which will help you avoid long queues and traffic. As there is no one in Goa who provides hyperlocal delivery at door step, we plan to reach to all Goans and touch all of the 1.8 million population.

HERALD: Who are your major customers?
DM: All customers are important for us, but mostly there are two kinds of customer segments we can bifurcate into. One, people who order food and two, people who order groceries. Customers who order food from restaurants are mostly in the age group of 18-30 years and those who order groceries are mostly housewives who have smartphones. There is another segment of customers who are working in offices and they do not have time to go to the market. Persons who order groceries normally also order food at least twice a week specially on weekends. However, customers who order food, comparatively order less on weekends because of outing and parties.

HERALD: What issues did you have to face when you thought of launching this company? Any help from government /CIBA?
DM: during the initial days I faced issues like finding compatible core people with whom I can work. Even now I am looking for people who have one goal and vision, especially in field of technology and logistics. Currently we are good enough to manage the startup which will be growing exponentially in coming years. No, neither the government nor CIBA guided us. As a young entrepreneur from Goa I can say that if Goa needs to develop then it needs more startups and entrepreneurs with bigger vision to do something which can change the eco-system and generate more employment.
HERALD: What made you work as an entrepreneur in Goa and how did you get to know whether the area you are working is lucrative?
DM: We realised that Goa never had a company which would deliver food and grocery at door step within 30 minutes after placing order. We saw that there was hardly any competition in the Goan market and hence we decided to pioneer our efforts in this field. Also, Goa is growing as far as tech savvy people are concerned. Large number of people are indulging in online shopping as opposed to the traditional way of touch and feel shopping. Food and grocery are needed daily and hence we guaged the business coming to us. About being lucrative, we are people’s company we are looking for large volumes on daily basis and at the end of the day we are simplifying peoples’ life by solving their problem within 30 minutes.

HERALD: How do you see the Goan market? Is there a demand for home delivery in Goa?
DM: Goan market is still developing. I cannot say that Goa is fully developed or anyway near to the levels of Bangaluru. Goan market is like a green field which can be looked at in two ways. First, people here do not want to try out something new or unique which comes into the market. Second, identifying the Goan market and acquiring the growth in the market before any new entrant logs in. So Brasham Delivery was the one who identified the potential of this market in Goa and started the service.

HERALD: Where do you see yourself and your company in next five years from now?
DM: In the coming five years we are looking to solve the problem of people accross India with reach of 2.5 billion population, our vision would be same as before and our approach (a) customer first; (b) innovate and (c) growth. In coming five years Brasham Delivery will build 4 “bility”, that is accessibility, feasibility, credibility and predictability. This means that accessibility to customer shall be provided in any part of India. Feasibility means customer is feasible enough to order from us any point of time and reach us. Credibility means our customers, partners and all stakeholders will build brand for us unlike others. Predictability means customer ordering food or grocery from Brasham Delivery at any point of time along with their faith and trust in our service that their order will be delivered within 30 minutes.
