Students were selected from rural Goa, North Karnataka, Sholapur Satara after considering their marks scored which could not be less fifty percent.
Diwakar Kaza, president HR said “ The three year course is a customized Bachelor’s degree program in Drug Sciences with a structured on the job training along with a stipend which starts at Rs. 7500 the first year, Rs 8500 the second and Rs 9500 in the final year”.
The students are not required to sign a bond with the company and are free to leave at the end of the course. Over the three year course, students undergo an industry specific academic course structure. They were required to undergo on the job training for 5 days followed by class room learning for 1 day every week.
It was theory coupled with practical experience. The company also facilitated life skills training to ensure holistic development.
All the students who graduated received their offer letter along with their certificates. The salaries offered were approximately Rs. 23,000. The company has an attrition rate of approximately 11 % as opposed to the industry standard of 26%. The company intends to offer MSC course in pharma science to all those who have scored 65% in the course which turns out to be 85% of the graduating class. All the expenses will be borne by the company.
