Sahil Adwalpalkar from a very young age always wanted to do business. He attributes Anil Counto of Alcon as his inspiration and said that Mr Counto is a true entrepreneur and has always inspired our generation to innovate and come up with new ideas.
A true believer in his dream, Sahil had no plan in mind after returning from the USA. “I knew I wanted to enter the family business but here was no clear idea as to how I could grow it or make it into the brand it is today. After working in the company for one year and changing its basic structure with quality and design elements it gave me the confidence that I was probably ready to move to something else to create a brand that would be powerful enough to drive a new vertical of the company and here SinQ was conceptualized the brand that was started as a nightclub showed huge potential,” said Sahil.
At the moment Sahil is neck deep into leveraging his brand. The group is gearing up to be the largest boutique hospitality brand of Goa, which will control about 600 keys in the coming few years. What has made this possible and successful is the brand that stands behind it. SinQ is now ready to move outside Goa in different parts of India.
“The sinQ brand has also helped us establish to more brands Soi and Soro that are doing very well in their respective fields and will soon be entering the real estate market with its own brand,” added Sahil.
When he first conceptualized SinQ most people told him that the concept would not work in Goa as the market was not ready and since he is not a very social person, the task became more difficult. “It demoralized me first but then I thought I should stick to my gut feeling, market research and make the project work,” added Sahil.
A man who loves Goa cannot even think of ever settling down in any other place in the world except Goa. He strongly believes that the idea one has must be translated into work and is confident that if one is tuned to what is happening around, the fresh ideas will flow in from the surroundings.
After office he likes to spend some time at home, watching TV for some time and then goes out with friends for dinner and drinks. For him his family is his biggest strength as they have supported him at every stage.
