For a man who says he gets satisfaction from completing what he sets out to do, Bhuvanish likes to keep it simple. Like many people who wish to achieve much in life, he is up at 6.30 am. After ensuring that his children make it to school, he leaves for the gym. He may be slight of build but he certainly has the energy and the drive to strike a hard bargain. Back home by 9.30 he performs puja, has his breakfast and then leaves for the rigours of daily business life. He works very long hours given the challenges of conducting business in Goa.
Like any Goan he enjoys his non vegetarian food, he loves his fish though there is none in specific that he prefers on his plate. He likes his Italian food and he enjoys going out with his wife to try out this cuisine. And yes of course, he likes his goan cuisine. In terms of restaurants he likes the fare at Ritz Classic, Da Maria for Italian food and Cafe Bhosale for snacks.
Given the somewhat depressing tone prevalent in Goan business, he does not like to watch depressing movies. He likes to keep it light and he is generally not very particular as to what he watches as long as it is nothing serious. For him it is about taking the family out eating popcorn watching his children and wife enjoy themselves.
Same holds true for music too. There is no specific genre of which he is a fan of though he admits he may like melodious pop music. Reading however is a passion. He reads a lot of non-fiction and some fiction. He enjoys reading Ravi Subramanian and even in the pressure of business life, he keeps time aside to read books.
Like many Goans he likes to take two holidays, one in the country and one outside. Though it may not spread over ten days like his wife would like. It is always for three or four days, anything longer and he misses the excitement of the new assignment. Last year in September he went with the family to Delhi for a three day holiday during the Ganesh festival. His last international holiday was in Dubai in 2012.
Now that the mall has commenced operations, when asked what he wanted next, he smiled and said that he intended to maintain the same pace of work because it made him happy. Though he felt it was now important to spend more time with his family.
For a man who started off in Mumbai, then shifted to Bengaluru and build dreams there for ten years, he has found happiness in Goa. Though one would not believe that he intended to stay put here, time will tell.
