HERALD: What is your field of specialty?
CASLINO PEREIRA: Singulerp is cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for the manufacturing industry. It is currently incubated and has its base of operations at CIBA (Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration), Verna.
Unlike most solutions out in the market, our product is cloud-based and completely online, which does not require specialty hardware and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Also, the subscription model allows you to use the software for as low as Rs 1000 a month. There is no need to spend lakhs of rupees on yearly licence fees and your organisation can be on-board in less than a day.
HERALD: How can your company help Goans, especially start-ups?
CP: In addition to providing employment and contributing to the start-up industry we offer quality and affordable software solutions to the Goan industrial units who until now have had to rely on out of State, often dubious software providers. Our experience in building software for international clients has given us a unique perspective and understanding of how good quality software should be built. It is this experience and quality that we wish to give our Goan workforce and clients.
HERALD: Who are your major customers?
CP: The functionality of our ERP is tailor made for a small to mid-sized manufacturing unit. The low cost of subscription, intuitive screen designs and user experience, easy customisations, comprehensive product lifecycle management and host of other features makes our product an attractive offering to the SME units in the state.
HERALD: What made you decide to launch your company in Goa?
CP: I have been an entrepreneur for the last decade and co-founded several start-ups here in Goa. Through my organisation Start-up Goa, I have been actively involved in the start-up scene here. Experiences have shown that Goa is very unique and ideally suited to build start-ups. The multi-cultural populace, high quality of life, natural beauty, vibrant social scene, decent infrastructure and connectivity; retains and attracts top talent to the State.
HERALD: How do you see the Goa market? Are you planning to spread out?
CP: Goa has 20 industrial estates and more than 300 industrial units. For us each and every one of those units is a potential customer. The global ERP market is pegged to grow by $40 billion by 2020 and being cloud and subscription based allows us to easily tap into that market.
HERALD: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
CP: Lean and agile; our aim and intention has always been to be a small effective team having a large impact. Since inception we have put process and policies in places that allow our small specialised team to work efficiently and maximise output. Along with a few more hires in the coming days across departments, we are staged to grow exponentially in customer base and revenues. Our mission is to become the most favoured ERP in the SME sector and be part of the Industry 4.0 revolution.
