St Britto High
School in collaboration with
the PTA organizedfor the first time a ‘Family Day’ on the school ground
recently. It was an entertaining evening at St BrittoMapusa, which was attended
by around 1700 parents, students, ex-students, friends and well-wishers.“The
main aim was to get the family members together for one evening of togetherness
and entertainment. Hence stress was given on a family attending together, “said
Fr Cedric Fernandes.
The programme
consisted of an entertainment programme staged by the school students,
Springbok African Acrobats and a dance by Snedan Shawn Dance Academy. The band
‘Smooth’ and DJ Ryan Sparx kept the crowd especially the youngsters entertained
with their music.
The emcees Savio
Pereira, Ian Pinto and Jermaine Mendes kept the crowd entertained. Party games
were held for parents, youth and children and a number of spot prizes were given
out. Activities like Housie and an auction of a painting were also part of the
evening entertainment.
“The
event was a grand success taking into account that the Family Day was organised
for the first time. With a bit of evaluation the Family Day promises to be more
entertaining the next time it is held. Many parents and those that attended the
programme have said that this should be conducted at regular intervals,” added
Fr Cedric.
