Fr Agnel College, Pilar organises international conference

Goa plays host to three-day international conference on emerging trends in tourism, entrepreneurship and management

 The 2nd India-Greater Mekong Sub-Region International Conference
on the theme ‘Emerging Trends in Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Management’
organised by Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, was inaugurated at
Sanskruti Bhavan, Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto, Panjim, on November
27, 2019. The three-day Conference (concludes today) is organised with the
collaboration of University of Management and Economics, Cambodia; Ubon
Ratchathani Business School, Thailand; Rajapark Institute, Thailand; The
Association of Researchers, Thailand; and FATER Academy of India (FAI).

The inaugural programme commenced with the Chief Patron of the
Conference and the Principal of Fr Agnel College Dr Savio P Falleiro, welcoming
the dignitaries and delegates. The Chief Guest of the inaugural was HE Dr Tun
Pheakdey, President, University of Management and Economics, Cambodia. Also
present at the inaugural among others were Prof B S Bisht (President of FAI,
Director of Birla Institute of Applied Sciences, Uttarakhand and former Vice
Chancellor of G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar);
Prof P Srivastava (Organising Secretary, FAI), Prof C C Tan (School of
Management, Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand); Dr Yannakorn Toprayoon
(Director, School of Management, Rajapark Institute, Thailand); Dr Muon Veasna
(Cambodia); Major General (Retd) M P Singh; and Rev Fr Mateus Fernandes sfx
(Provincial, Goa Province, Society of Pilar and Chairman, Xaverian Educational
Society).

In
addition to various addresses, the inaugural programme saw the felicitation of Prof
C C Tan for his meritorious contribution, besides the release of the Conference
Proceedings (Book of Abstracts). The Conference will witness paper
presentations, Indo Cambodia Bilateral lecture series, Invited talks and
Video/Skype/Youtube lectures. Over 60 papers have been listed for
presentations, with delegates from about seven countries registering to
participate in the Conference, besides delegates from Goa and from other states
of India including Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Chandigarh,
Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat.
