FRIDAY THE 13TH: NOT A DATE WITH FEAR

Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in Western superstition.. According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in USA 17 to 21 million people are affected by a fear of this day, Films like Friday the 13th has added to the trepidation around this date Café talked to people in Goa to learn if they cared about the day and had decided to go easy.

 I am aware of
the background of the day and the attendant
marketing that goes along with it adding to the fears of many. I
have been suspicious in the past and apprehensive but when I look back there
has not been one incident that I would call suspicious because of Friday the
13th. By the way I would have to admit to loving the series and looking forward
to each film in the series.

It’s just another day. No more or less lucky than any other
day/date. One needs to work hard to get lucky. I watched the movies with mild
interest otherwise, its just another day though in America, it is huge.

I don’t really pay attention to such days; it means nothing to
me. I watched the movies but apart of that nothing. I will go about my schedule
without any change in plans.

I for one, will go about my day as usual, walking under ladders,
spilling salt and breaking mirrors. I may even purchase a lottery ticket!

Only means a horror movie to me and nothing else to me. It
freaked me out. But Number 13 lucky for me. Im aware many hotel chains will not
have a floor 13 but it is all nonsense. I am very comfortable with Friday the
13.
