Remembering Robin

One of America’s most beloved entertainers, Robin Williams, was found dead at his home in California. The actor who delighted audiences of all ages was known to be struggling with depression. The entire world, from the acting community and beyond, mourns his loss

Robin Williams, the man who won the hearts of millions for a
host of reasons surrounding the delightful roles he played on screen, is no
more. The actor, aged 63, was found unconscious and not breathing just before
noon Monday inside his home in Tiburon, California. He was later pronounced
dead at 12:02 pm after emergency personnel arrived. The actor was last seen
alive at 10 pm on Sunday, August 10. At the moment, the cause of death is suspected
to be a suicide due to asphyxia.

Indian actor, Kamal Haasan, who starred in the Hindi
adaptation of ‘Mrs Doubtfire’, titled ‘Chachi 420’,  mourned Williams’ loss, saying ”I dislike him
for ending his life before his due date of expiry. That is a copout I don’t
expect of an artist of his calibre.”

Williams earlier publicly stated “I was an only child. I did
have kind of like a lonely existence. The idea of being a character who is kind
of isolated, I can relate to that.” From this statement, one could possibly
infer that his troubles were far from over.

Williams’ demise has resulted in, as his wife Susan
Schneider has aptly stated, “The world losing one of its most beloved artists
and beautiful human beings.”
