While the North of Goa was grooving to the beats of
Sunburn and Supersonic, South Goa was lacking a great event with electro dance
music, until Bresources Event Management stepped in and offered the Carnival
Beach Grind. Founded in 2011 by Mickey Pacheco and Viola Fernandes e Pacheco,
Bresources Event Management held its first event in February 2012. “Bresources
got its name from our sons, Brazzi and Ruussi. When we organised our first
event, Carnival Beach Grind in Betalbatim, we got a very good response from the
audience as we had all Indian artists performing at the music festival. Now we
have four annual properties, Goa Beach Grind, Carnival Beach Grind, Sunset
Music Festival and Sundown Music Festival,” says Viola.
While Mickey Pacheco, Chairman of the company, took
the lead in organising the first event, Viola enjoyed the craziness of managing
and handling the different departments involved in making an event a success.
“I love meeting new people and making friends and through the events, I could
interact with people from different backgrounds from different states and countries.
Organising an event is no longer work after your clients become your friends. I
love the craziness,” says Viola, brimming with satisfaction.
The next musical fest will be the Carnival Beach
Grind which will be held between February 14 and 17, 2015. “We haven’t finalised
the place yet but it will be decided upon in a few days. So far we had
international and national as well as local artists performing for our shows in
Goa. We had brought in headlining acts from UK, USA and Netherlands for our
previous shows. We follow the Billboard Charts and plan on the line up in
advance by looking at the popularity of the artists and their music,” explains
Viola who says that it is not only Goans but people from Bangalore, Mumbai and
Delhi who book their tickets in advance to attend the music festivals.
Bresources handles music festivals, weddings,
boardroom presentations, award nights, product launches, road shows and
conferences. “We have allotted responsibilities to different departments and
this makes it easier for me to manage everything. I know whom to hold
responsible if anything goes wrong. We have separate teams for sound,
productions, artist managements etc. It can be mind wrecking sometimes but that
is the joy of managing an event.”
Besides Bresources, Viola has to attend to her three
children, Brazzi, Paulla and Ruussi. “I give them more attention and have
managed my time according to their schedule.”
How does she keep calm with all the chaos? “I drink
a lot of water and listen to music. I feel pumped up when I listen to EDM music
and that is the reason I enjoy organising the festivals. At leisure, I prefer
listening to slow music,” concludes Viola.
