After making the young and old scratch
their head for the last five years in succession, the annual Incredible India
Quiz is back in its fifth edition. After the overwhelming response in the last
four years, The International Centre Goa (ICG) and the Sunday Evening Quiz Club
(SEQC) in association with Herald Group bring to you yet another exciting
edition of the Incredible India Quiz to be held today at the ICG, Dona Paula.
Each year, this Independence Day Quiz enjoys participation of over 250 children
from different parts of Goa in the School Edition while around 100 participants
in the Open Edition.
Like every year, Incredible India Quiz –
2014 will be fought across two categories – Open and School. While the School category
invites students of schools across India to compete with each other, the Open category
is the battling ground for people of all age groups. Both quizzes will be
conducted by SEQC founder-members – the Schools edition by Rajiv D’Silva, and
the Open edition by Aniruddha Sen Gupta. Both are accomplished quizzers and
experienced quizmasters. Rajiv D’Silva, speaking about the theme for the quiz
this year, says, “The quiz will have questions that have anything and
everything to do with India across all topics. The content will include audio,
visual and video questions, and all the other bells and whistles that go into
making an exciting contest. Even the prize money involved this year is more
than the previous year. We are just getting bigger and better.”
Arjun Halarnkar of ICG says, “The turnout
in past years has been extraordinary – close to 100 teams register every year.
This year we have already received registration for about 75 teams for School edition.
More entries are still welcome.”
IIQ 2014 is supported by Department of Goa Tourism
and Travel Another India.
