Grow-Trees, Vodafone green partners
PANJIM: On the occasion of the World Environment Day, Grow-Trees.com, the exclusive Indian Planting Partner for United Nation’s Environment Program’s Billion Tree Campaign, and Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecom services provider, announced a novel private initiative to benefit the wildlife corridor between Kanha-Pench wildlife reserves by planting 3,00,000 trees over 3 years.
The tree planting activities will be spread out over 100 hectares of forest land between the two reserves.
This project will create about 25,000 workdays of direct jobs mainly for women and tribals inhabiting the area in addition to supporting several allied livelihood generating activities such as farming, fruit and honey gathering etc on a sustained basis. The site is in Sijhora Range and would be jointly protected by three villages – Majhipur, Jogisoda and Chandiya. A variety of trees, including Karani, Harra, Baheda, Bamboo, Khamer, Ladiya, Mango and Amla, that are local to the region will be planted. Saplings of these are already being grown in the special nurseries funded by Grow-Trees.com.
Bajaj Electricals marks
World Environment Day
PANJIM: Bajaj Electricals Ltd, as part of the World Environment Day, partnered with the Goa Forest Department to carryout tree plantations. Bajaj Electriclas in partnership with Department of Forests, Goa will be planting about 1500 fruit bearing trees at the same location in the future.
The chef guest for the program was Alina Saldanha, Minister for Forests, Goa; while Jennifer Monserrate, MLA of Taleigao Constituency graced the event. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Goa Forest Department was also present for the program. Pradeep Tandon, executive director, Bajaj Electricals were among the dignitaries. Bajaj Electricals has sponsored the plantation of fruiting trees at the Goa Forest Department site at AivaoVaddo, Dona Paula. Tandon along with other dignitaries inaugurated the program by planting a sapling. The team at Bajaj Electricals has volunteered to plant more than 350 saplings at the site.
IDBI Federal unveils plan
PANJIM: IDBI Federal Life Insurance has launched its Childsurance Savings Protection Insurance Plan. IDBI Federal Childsurance Savings Protection Insurance Plan helps build savings to fund child’s important milestones even in case of any unforeseen event.
The highlight of Childsurance Savings is the guaranteed annual payouts in the last 3 or last 5 years of the policy, depending on the policy term. These payouts fund the important milestones in the child’s life. The parent has the option to choose how much money he would want as guaranteed annual payouts and thus ensure that there is always enough to fuel his child’s dreams. This plan is a participating plan and offers bonuses to the customer to be paid out at maturity. Childsurance Savings Protection plan gives guaranteed annual payouts either in the last 3 or the last 5 years of the policy, depending on the policy term that one chooses. The plan participates in the profits of the company’s participating policyholders’ life fund by way of bonuses. These bonuses are paid out as a lump sum along with the last guaranteed annual payout.
The core benefit of this plan is the death benefit. Upon the death of the life insured, say the parent, the plan triggers 3 benefits – (i) death sum assured is paid at the time of death, (ii) future premiums are waived off, (iii) the plan continues as usual. This means that whether the parent is around or not, this plan will ensure that the child gets the guaranteed annual payouts and the bonuses as planned, to fulfil his dreams.
