A nostalgic experience

I had the opportunity to attend the premiere of “Nachom-ia Kumpasar”, a Konkani film. I can sing praises of all the artistes, the impeccable casting, for the cinematography, for the editing, and thoughtful dialogues, for the choreography and for the authenticity of the Konkani language used by the characters. John D’Silva needs a special mention for his humorous and witty dialogues.
Real brilliance cannot be quantified and with my meagre knowledge of tiatr and its history, all I can say is that the director Bardroy Baretto, native of Galgibagh, Canacona, has brilliantly encompassed the heart rendering and soul stealing songs of legend of yesteryears Lorna to make this film a truly grand spectacle of homage to all the forgotten Goan singers and musicians.
Thank you Bardroy Baretto for a fulfilling experience. The need of the hour is for the sons and daughters of Goa to use their creativity to bring to the fore the magic that lies in our musicians, singers and tiatrists.
