India became independent in 1947 and a Republic in 1950, thus giving its citizens freedom and constitutional rights.
Today, what I should eat and drink, the government decides; what I should wear, the government–backed fringe elements decides; what I should speak and which films I should watch, others decide. Moreover, which faith I should follow and where my children should study, others decide. In reality, where is my freedom and where are my promised and guaranteed rights?
