The FSSAI by keeping the people’s health in mind has banned Maggi 2 minute noodles throughout the country as it contained Monosodium Glutamate or Ajinamoto beyond the permissible limits.
So far so good but the health authorities should be consistent and apply the same yardstick and also test other consumables, half of which would be eliminated for having ingredients beyond the permissible limits. why only single out Maggi?
No ethnic Chinese dish is complete without the addition of MSG. They should also have a look in at the kitchens of restaurants where food is cooked in the most unhygienic conditions which is also equally harmful for health.
Just for info sake on one of my visits to Shanghai China, I casually asked the steward about the MSG in their dishes and was told no Chinese dish is complete without MSG and the Chinese have one of the longest life spans of 80/90 years .
