It was rather distressing to read the news item in your newspaper about the appointment of Santosh Desai as Director of Animal Husbandry and the controversy it caused.
It is well known that every government department has a lot of internal bickering within its staff, with individuals and groups filing complaints internally or through outside methods against their ‘opponent(s). Since this complaint has to be investigated, it is used to harass the person just for departmental fun or benefits. I have, over the years, seen Santosh hold various posts in the Association as well as the Council and never have I seen him shirk from what is correct. We, in Goa, have seen Directors come and go with absolutely no improvement in the State under their tenure. Since liberation there could hardly be even a handful who can be counted who worked to improve Goa. I think Santosh will show the difference.
