Look at how the MPs and ministers give themselves 30 to 40 lakhs annually designated cleverly as allowances, which are not computed for tax. Compare with paltry limit for tax exemptions. This is besides perquisites in lakhs on free travels by air and rail including their kit and kin, medical benefits, free water, electricity, gas cylinders, constituency and entertainment allowances, entertainment, pensions, postage and fuel allowances etc. This is not the standard of the voters they represent. That alone will show that the people at large at least deserve reasonable exemption limit to survive the back breaking rising prices.
